Pedregal is a gated community of 330 acres that sprawls over a mountain and has two beaches. Home to some of the most luxurious villas in Cabo, it is also known as the “Beverly Hills” of Cabo.
It started in 1974 when a young architect, Don Manuel Diaz Rivera, from Mexico City visited the area and saw it had great potential. He made Pedregal his home and carefully started to plan and design the then barren land into the prestigious development it is today.
Behind the gates, the premier community of Pedregal features custom villas with ocean views, beachfront or marina views that are visible from all along the mountainside. The villas range from three bedroom retreats to twelve bedroom estates with full staffs. Pedregal is a favorite for many visitors because of the premier amenities and close access to restaurants, bars, tennis courts, spa and wellness facilities and the Cabo San Lucas Marina. It is just a short three minute drive over the hill or a short walk from the Marina side to downtown Cabo.
The Los Cabos Corridor is the 20 mile stretch of golden beaches along the Sea of Cortez and dessert landscapes that connect the towns of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. The Corridor is more seclusive than the more populated cities at each end of it, but just minutes away from either town on the four lane highway.
You will find some of the most beautiful beaches along the Corridor with calm waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Some favorites for swimming and snorkeling are Santa Maria Bay, Chileno Bay and Palmilla Bay. There are day trips available for snorkeling tours to these bays, just ask us for the details. But not all the beaches are safe for swimming, so make sure you check with your concierge or look for safety flags before going into the ocean.
The Corridor has been developed into a golfers’ paradise with eleven months of rain free weather and seven world class golf course designed by some of the best like Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Tom Weiskopf. Don Koll, the pioneering developer of the Palmilla Resort, now known as One & Only Palmilla, was a golf enthusiast and was one of the first who envisioned this area as a golfers heaven. He commission “The Golden Bear” Jack Nicklaus to design twenty-seven holes of golf at the Palmilla Resort and since then, Mr. Nicklaus has designed two more courses in Los Cabos.
The Corridor is where you will find some of our most lavish rental villas, some offering to their renter’s access to private beach clubs. Palmilla was the first resort built in Los Cabos and is now considered one of the first luxury resort, master planned developments. In 1957, Albelardo “Rod” Rodriguez, the famed fighter pilot, opened the Hotel Palmilla, which back then was accessible only by yacht or private plan. The privacy of the resort along with the great deep-sea fishing quickly attracted the Hollywood crowd and became a favorite getaway for Dezi Arnaz, John Wayne, Bing Crosby and Phil Harris.
But it wasn’t until 1991, when visionary Southern California developer Don Koll, led the construction of what is now known as one of the first high-end, luxury resort living developments in all of Los Cabos. Don Koll was the first developer in the area to build a 27 hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course and built a community of the most luxurious villas in the Los Cabos area. It offers guests privacy, luxury, and elegance and is in a league of its own.
